So another politician has admitted to having an affair. Senator John Ensign from Nevada boned down with a campaign staffer, who he has yet identify. And the staffer is married to one of Ensign’s former legislative aides. From the Washington Post:
Ensign, a member of the Senate Republican leadership, disclosed the affair at a hastily arranged news briefing in Las Vegas, his home town. He flew home yesterday morning after informing GOP leaders on Capitol Hill of his impending announcement, missing a vote on tourism legislation considered important to Nevada’s casino industry.
I imagine that aide sitting on his couch, watching the news, his wife in the kitchen – ‘Honey, you should see this.’ ‘What is it dear?’ ‘John’s in trouble, he had an affair.’ (plate crashing) ‘You okay. Anyway, it’s so weird, they say she worked on his campaign, and was married to one of John’s aides. That’s like us, isn’t that weird.’ ‘Oh, yeah, that is weird.’ ‘I wonder who it was… I bet it was Robertson, his wife looks like a slut.’
The part of this story that everyone will be talking about:
In 1998, as a House member running against Reid, he called on President Bill Clinton to resign after revelations about his affair with a White House intern. “He sent taxpayer-paid staff out to lie for him, and that is a misuse of office,” Ensign said, adding that the president had “no credibility left.”
A hypocrite in Washington is pretty rare. Make a note of this one; it’s like seeing Haley’s Comet… This may not happen again in your lifetime.
Just for clarification, I have no idea who is on Ensign’s staff. If there is a guy named Robertson, I just picked a name at random. And if he’s married, I wasn’t really calling his wife a slut. She might be one, I don’t know. How could I? I’ve never met the woman.

Not bad, huh. Except she has giant triceps. Why is she so obsessed with working out? Maybe that’s why he cheated. He’s probably like me; I’m not into buff chicks, but I’m not into heavy girls either. I like the soft, bulimic look.
