cap and shut up…

The ever clever Sarah Palin wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post . Bleh, whatever. She makes me want to rip my face off with a fork. But read it if you want, I guess you should. In the same way you’d read or watch something Paris Hilton would do for The Washington Post; people will talk about it, but it doesn’t really mean anything. And why do idiot politicians always use lame play on words over and over again, Cap and Tax – stupid. It wouldn’t even be a tax really, just paying more for a cleaner product. Like when your pimp gets a fresh ho.
Cap and Trade? Here’s a definition from www.wisegeek.com:
- Under a cap and trade system, a government authority first sets a cap, deciding how much pollution in total will be allowed. Next, companies are issued credits, essentially licenses to pollute, based on how large they are, what industries they work in, and so forth. If a company comes in below its cap, it has extra credits which it may trade with other companies.
If you want a good look at the numbers that people are spouting out about increased taxes and what not read this from www.factcheck.org. Or just read the last sentence.
- An EPA analysis of the draft version found that “[t]he cap & trade policy has a relatively modest impact on U.S. consumers assuming the bulk of revenues from the program are returned to household[s],” and it estimates the average cost per household to be between $98 and $140 per year.
Now you know some stuff about Cap and Trade. You still don’t care, right. That’s fine, because no one knows how it will work for us for a couple years, if it even gets passed, anyway.
